C-day

Today I had the Italian test... disaster :p The first part was ok but then... SO I have a very long time to go.
Hopefully hearing Italian enough will help me out. Monday it's D-day. First classes in Italian. Unfortunately the schedule isn't available yet, so still have to decide which classes I'll take.
Good news is that I'm registered at the faculty (for 10 months, so that worked out eventually). Administration so far isn't as bad as I thought it would be (besides queuing  for 2h to get the stupid codice fiscale). But like I said the hard part still has to start.

Anyhow less boring things: yesterday we had a nice dinner with some friends from the German flatmate. The two french girls arrived as well. I think they were a bit overwhelmed yesterday with the company (=combination of having to travel all day + bunch of people drinking wine + loud people :p).
They seem nice and I've got the feeling their level of Italian is a lot higher then mine. As they are going to the same faculty, Valle Giulia, they can maybe help me out form time to time.

Sunday there'll be a trip to San Marino to taste some Italian wine, I'm curious how that'll be. Now I'll have lunch with the flatmates and then catch some sleep (as yesterday it was rather late combined with an early (painful :p) Italian exam). Ciao x

First impression

So I've been in rome for some days now. Like expected I still have to manage quite some administrative stuff. Including a problem with how long my stay is according Ugent and according to La Sapienza. But I'm sure that'll be in order soon... I hope.
The Italian language is still a huge barrier. Every time I try to communicate in Italian I realize I still have a very long way to go. On the other hand I met some friendly people around here. Been to some parties and the first evening got to know some people from Teheran. Wouldn't think that my first evening out would be with people from Iran. Also some people from Poland and the first fellow-foreigner who studies at Valle Giulia. Yesterday my new flatmate from Portugal arrived. So I guess the apartment will soon be filled with the people I'll live with the upcoming year.
Today I'm planning to study some Italian, as on wednesday I have a first exam of it. Unfortunately I'm thinking that the last 3 days... so fingers crossed that I'll manage today.
Ciao

Roma +1

Left the solid Belgian soil yesterday at 15.30h (hour delay) and 2 hours later I’m at my new territory for the year to come.
The appartment is nice. The people living here beside me are moving out in a week. So i’ll have new flatmates soon. A bit of pitty maybe bcs after only 3 hours in the boot of Europe, I allready experienced the Italian hospitality.
An Italian girl and her boyfriend offered me a plate of their dinner and a glass of wine. You could have guessed; pasta. Both tasted delicious.

I might go to Rome, but beer is my home (thx to L)

Before I leave to Italy, I had the opportunity to enjoy the delicacies of the Belgian culture once more. What's a better excuse to have a drink, then having a friend over. The amazing Australian girl Larissa gave us the quest to find her favorite beer! All the best in your trips around the world, I hope you enjoyed it!

10

...10 days to go before I'm off to the southern Italia.
I will try to post something from time to time so you can enjoy my stories and as a memory for myself.
